There are no “silver bullet” solutions to internet security and the phrase itself is rather ambiguous. It is important to specify what threats you are trying to protect against, so if you could be more specific, you may get better advice.

There are many such reviews which, hopefully, you have looked at on the web. Each has it’s own algorithm for measuring the product’s performance, so the rankings are never the same. One issue you’ll need to consider is whether you are willing to pay for your product or use some of the excellent free ones. Personally I subscribe to one on the basis you usually get what you pay for, but some of the free ones provide good general protection.
It is possibly not everyone’s experience but I avoid McAfee products because they used to case stability issues and were very difficult to uninstall. Perhaps that is all fixed now but I still bear the scars.
