I’m about to ship my PC to the UK, and I’m wondering how to do it with as much safety as possible. Do you have any tips? Do you have experience in shipping workstations?

I can’t exactly say how to package the computer (I have some ideas but I’m not sure I can describe it so well and I’d rather not mislead anyone) as such. But there is an equally important thing you should know (If you don’t already): depending on where you are (e.g. the US) you’ll want to change the voltage of the PSU (power supply unit) because if you don’t there is a good chance it’ll blow up when it is powered on…

If i were you, i would dismount the CPU cooler, and GPU as they are quite heavy and can tear apart from MOBO. Also i would consider transporting it with use of services like http://clicktrans.com/ . You can post your package there, and wait for best offer. Also you can talk with person who whill handle your PC so you can warn them and ask to handle it with sepcial care.

Depending on if the PC has been built, and contains sensitive information you may want to consider encrypting the hard drive so if it is intercepted no one will be able to view the information
